Last week’s freebie sale on Evangeline and the Alchemist: A Novella: Mystery and Mayhem in steampunk Melbourne (The Antics of Evangeline Book 1) was an overwhelming success (over 2,500 downloads). I was blown away. I hope you snaffled a copy and enjoy it.

In the past week, I’ve been exploring my shadow side with my new gothic horror work and finalising proofs/cover for Evangeline and the Bunyip.

Evangeline and the Bunyip

As I said, I’m finalising the cover and hope to have Evangeline and the Bunyip available from Amazon by September (if not earlier).

Why no preorder, you ask? Well…let’s just say I stuffed up a little with Amazon and now I’m banned from pre-orders for a year. But anyway, I shall let you all know loudly and proudly when Evangeline and the Bunyip is available.

The Production

I’m continuing on with my new gothic horror work-in-progress, now at over 12k words. It’s a struggle but still an enjoyable one, as I wrangle to find the right tone. I’m also enjoying reading a lot of horror in the name of research. Currently reading Josh Malerman Bird Box Don’t Open Your Eyes (Hardback) – Commonand The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror: The Year’s Best Terror Tales.

As The Production deals with a whole bunch of teen angst and teen theatre, I’m trailing through my own past for inspiration. This may be the most personal piece of writing I’ve ever done.

Now, that’s scary.
